Service Description

In this lesson, you will be introduced to throwing on the potter's wheel. You will learn how to throw basic forms, how to prepare the clay, and how clay is transformed into ceramics. If you are planning to start your pottery journey or just want to relax and try something new, this class is for you! How Long: 2 hrs Where: Victor's studio, located at Gorst Road Studios, a vibrant community of artists at the heart of Park Royal, Ealing Borough How Much: £60 per person or £210 for the full course (including clay, firing, glazing and postage+packaging) Only up to TWO STUDENTS per class More info: At the end of the session, you will be asked to choose your pots to be fired. These pots will be fired, glazed, and will be ready for collection within 3-4 weeks. If you are redeeming a gift card, please contact studio@victorpedrosaceramics.com to book your session. If booking the full course: The full course consists of 4 sessions to cover all the basics of wheel throwing, hand-building and glazing. In the first session, you will learn how to throw on the wheel. In the second session, you will trim (or turn) your pieces to achieve a beautiful and polished finish. The third session will cover two hand-building techniques: coiling and slab building. In the final session, you will have your pieces bisque fired and will glaze your pieces. About Victor: Victor is a part-time potter and a full-time neuroscientist. His pottery work ranges from functional ware to sculptural work with a focus on organic forms. In early 2023, Victor will be appearing at the new BBC 1's show Make It At Market!

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy for course bookings is 48 hours notice in writing before the start of the course. We can then move you to another course, or offer you a full refund. Should you opt to move to another course, we will not be able to transfer your place a second time or offer you a refund if you cannot attend that course. Should you be unable to attend the course after the 48 hours notice period has elapsed, the course fee is non refundable and your place cannot be moved. You can however gift your place to a friend or someone you know may be able to attend the course!
